Hurtimex S.A. was established in 1990 as a family company. Initially, the firm basically engaged in sales, including children’s clothing sales. Following its very formation, Hurtimex was the general distributor in Poland for Kanz – Europe’s leading children’s fashion creator.
In 1992, we decided to launch our own designs and manufacture baby and children’s clothing brands "tup-tup" and "HOOP". At the beginning, our products were basically comprised of baby and children’s underwear, but as time went by we consistently expanded our product ranges.
The launch of our own brand designs and manufacturing turned out to be a success, and as both brands developed, we decided to strengthen our market position by ensuring top product quality. Following our major early successes, in 1994 we decided to broaden the existing scope of our activities to incorporate Dyeing and Finishing shops, which ensured appropriate control over the production process and helped enrich the range of colours and products.
The dynamic growth of our collections and high interest from our customers allowed us to roll out a new distribution system in 1996, based on customer orders placed on half-year’s notice. In that period we also decided to present our collections twice a year in seasonal breakdown Spring / Summer and Autumn / Winter. As a follow-up, we verified and enriched our product ranges, which was broadly approved by our customers.
Starting from 2004, we expanded our distribution network to comprise partner shops, brand-sponsored shops, and own brand shops. Currently our distribution network incorporates 2 brand shops in Lodz, 11 brand-sponsored shops, and approx. 200 partner shops located around Poland.
Approximately 17% of the Company’s income on sales represents export revenues. We are present in Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ireland, and Bulgaria.
In 2008, we increased our share capital up to PLN 1 000 000 and restructured our business into a Joint-Stock Company, which was necessary to implement our development strategy. |
